The room was big sized and freshly decorated with magnificent views, a lounge area and coffee. The location was good for exploring this very quite area, not far from the library, a big bridge and the road and a long day's hike. Also, we were only 15 minutes drive to Loch Leven.

Spent two evenings with friends in front of an open fire place in the Old Library - seperate common area in the hotel. Bar was open all night and the night porter was really nice telling us stories about the area and the hotels history.

The staff's friendliness stands out and creates a cute atmosphere throughout the stay. The spacious room was well-appointed, contributing to a comfortable experience. Breakfast offered a wide variety, showcasing fresh meats, good. The first room presented was unclean and poorly maintained, with dusty surfaces and stained linens that marred the overall impression initially. After requesting a room change, the second accommodation was satisfactory and clean, significantly improving our experience.

very good location and decent decor. The rooms were clean and spacious. Some have refurbished bathrooms but generally the bathrooms were good.Mine had a jacuzzi but it didn't work. Also, we requested 2 twin rooms and were offered 2 singles instead of one of them in the same price. Good scottish breakfast - my brother liked the black pudding (like good Polish kaszanka).
the jacuzzi could work...

We were there for a weekend of walking and the location of this hotel was perfect. The outside of this hotel is great looking, just a shame that the inside doesn't match the exterior. It's actually really disappointing because the hotel could be really fabulous.
This hotel is very very tired looking and in dire need of updating. The rooms are dull and shabby and the cleanliness of the rooms could definately be improved on. Breakfast in the morning was also a very tired affair and the food itself was average at best. The 'bar' is tiny with maybe 4 tables to sit at. On the saturday night that we went in for a drink, there was no fire glowing despite the torrential rain that was pouring down outside, there was no music playing and it was a very quiet and awkward atmosphere. And a final warning, when running the taps in the bathroom, the water was very very brown, apparently due to peat in the water as it was raining. Almost black water in your spa bath is very unappealing I can assure you!!!!
